400 Alexander Park Cx - Princeton, NJ

Wick Fisher White was contracted to provide commissioning services for 400 Alexander Park located in West Windsor Township, NJ.   This 71,332 sf, 4 story office building included three (3) packaged rooftop units that serve the upper 3 floors and a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system serving the first and second floor core.  Terminal units included fan powered variable air volume boxes and VRF evaporators.  The VRF system included three (3) air-to-air heat recovery systems for ventilation, and a dedicated outside air system for the toilet room.  Commissioning was performed for all the mechanical components along with the four (4) electric domestic water heaters and lighting control system.  In addition, our team completed fundamental commissioning in pursuit of LEED certification. During the process WFW identified deficiencies in the system that the client is now working with the engineer to resolve.

Renovations consisted of the second floor and floors four through ten. The design included the complete demolition of all floors within in the contract area with modifications to the core toilet rooms on each floor. The existing perimeter two pipe fan coil system and the existing interior VAV system were modified to meet the new layout for Blank Rome. Spaces include attorney and paralegal offices, secretarial workstations, administrative offices, accounting department, caserooms/workrooms, conference rooms, training room, mailroom, computer equipment room, housekeeping rooms, storage rooms, reception areas, and barrier-free restrooms. Included in the fit-out were special areas such as a designated file server room, cafeteria, catering kitchen, fitness center, law library utilizing modern dense filing systems and satellite libraries on each of the eight office floors. The additional half floor was designed for archival storage which utilized electronically-controlled dense filing systems.

Corporate Restack 2015

Wick Fisher White provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineer services for the eight floor office restack at One Logan Square.  For each floor common pantries were established with updated fixtures and architectural elements. Perimeter and interior office spaces were rearranged, and file storage areas were added. The entrance lobbies were also updated with a more modern appeal. Lighting throughout the floors was also upgraded in as many areas as possible. Each existing floor’s air conditioning system was modified only as required for the revised wall layouts and occupant loads for each area. In addition, some spaces such as the copy machine rooms, required supplemental cooling units for after-hours operation.

In addition to the typical circuiting of receptacles and lighting, WFW designed the low voltage cabling systems for telephone, data and security.

Through detailed coordination among team members, WFW played a crucial role in ensuring the project’s success, despite an extremely aggressive design and construction schedule.

Won (GBCA) General Building Contractors Award - Excellence in Craftsmanship Award 2015.

Thomas Jefferson Univ. Information Services & Technology Fit-out - Philadelphia, PA

Wick Fisher White provided both tenant and landlord MEP design and construction services for the fit-out of approximately 43,000 sf of office space on the 10th floor of 833 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA, for Thomas Jefferson University’s Information Services and Technology department.  The additional space was required due to projected growth and operational expansion of TJU’s IT needs.  The fit-out space included open office workstations, team rooms, conference rooms, a café, and three large training rooms.  TJU’s vision for the space was to have a wide open feel, consistent with the expectations of the predominantly younger, tech-savvy new hires who would be working there.  This was accomplished by having an exposed ceiling plan around the perimeter of the space, and limiting dropped ceilings to a central core area.  Careful coordination was required to ensure that the primary MEP distribution systems were located above the ceilings within the core.

In addition to the exposed ceilings, the project included other unique features such as a 4-inch high accessible raised floor provided throughout the space to facilitate the routing of power, data and audio/visual cabling, and to allow for the easy relocation of plug and play furniture and equipment.  The space also has 100% power redundancy.  An automatic transfer switch switches power between two separate bus risers fed from separate substations and incoming building electric services.

New construction on the 10th floor also included men’s and women’s toilet rooms for common tenant use. These were required to supplement the existing floor toilet rooms, due to the increased occupancy generated by TJU’s fit-out.  WFW provided MEP design and construction services for the new toilet rooms under a separate contract with the landlord.
